Face Recognition Attendance System Using Haar Classifier with OpenCV for Educational Institutions
A cross-platform academic project developed for my Bachelor of Computer Science (Hons.) to automate student attendance using face detection, facial recognition, image processing, Flutter, Firebase, and CSV/Excel-based attendance records.
Overview
Developed an automated attendance data-collection system using Python, OpenCV and Haar Cascade Classifiers, including preparation of custom image datasets through grayscale conversion and resizing.
Integrated a Flutter application with Firebase and a Python backend via API for real-time capture, with structured attendance records exported to CSV for administrative use.
